SD State Library Award for Excellence

Sturgis Williams Middle School and Stagebarn Middle School were awarded the South Dakota State Library Award for excellence in Program, Place and Profession. Based on a rigorous assessment and submitted evidence, both middle schools were awarded exemplary status (the highest award) and Sturgis Brown High School was awarded Enhanced Status, missing exemplary by just one point.

This award can be applied for every three years, in 2016, Sturgis Williams Middle School and Sturgis Brown High School both received enhanced status.  SWMS and Stagebarn Middle School are two of only eight South Dakota school libraries to receive this award this year.  Sturgis Brown High School is one of five in its category.

Congratulations to Scottie Bruch, along with paraprofessionals, Amy Beckwith (Stagebarn MS), Cathy Johnson (SBHS), and Cami Goebel (SWMS).
