Mission: To ensure that all students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. This includes having the ability to efficiently and effectively locate, evaluate, and use various forms of information.
This mission is accomplished by:
1. Providing intellectual and physical access to resources in multiple formats;
2. Providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using information and ideas;
3. Collaborating with other educators to infuse information literacy skills into classroom instruction.
Kindness and Compassion Club
Open to 5th grade students and their goal is to "Rachel's Challenge" and pay it forward with deeds of kindness and compassion. Last year, students did fundraising for students facing cancer and ranchers who loss cattle during Storm Atlas.
The Sturgis Elementary Student Council is a group composed of students from the fourth and fifth grades. These students represent the Sturgis Elementary student body by representing their classmates by being good leaders, making decisions, and helping the community through donations from money raising efforts. Sturgis Elementary Student Council stresses the importance of maintaining strong character traits.
Kindergarten: 8:15 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. dismiss through main doors
First grade: 8:15 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. dismiss through west doors
Second grade: 8:10 a.m. – 3:05 p.m. dismiss through west doors
Third grade: 8:10 a.m. – 3:05 p.m. dismiss through west doors
Fourth grade: 8:05 a.m. – 3:10 p.m. dismiss through main doors
Fifth grade: 8:05 a.m. – 3:10 p.m. dismiss through southwest doors
