Staff Reception & Recognition Banquet

The Meade School District School Board cordially invites the public to the Staff Retirement & Recognition Banquet to honor the Meade School District 2022-23 employees who are retiring, those who have worked 15, 20, 30, 35 years and those who have been selected as teacher and professional-technical support staff of the year.

 

This year the banquet will be held the morning of Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 8:00 a.m. in the west gym at Sturgis Brown High School. A breakfast bar will be served by our very own Lori Jeffery-Kirk!

 

This free event is open to the public. Those attending must make reservations by calling the superintendent’s office at 605-347-2523, ext. 1, or email tanya.ludwick@k12.sd.us.

 

Staff member retirees for the 2022-23 school year: Cora Atkinson, Capable Kids Program, Piedmont Valley Elementary; Cal Christensen, custodian, Piedmont Valley Elementary; Scott Peterson, teacher, Sturgis Brown High School; Deb Wilburn, Assistant SPED Director, district-wide.

 

Staff members with 35 years of service for the 2022-2023 school year: Rex Schrock, head custodian, Sturgis Williams Middle School.

 

Staff members with 30 years of service for the 2022-2023 school year: Kim Hartwig, English teacher, Sturgis Williams Middle School.

 

Staff members with 20 years of service for the 2022-2023 school year: Deb Cano, math teacher, Sturgis Brown High School; Pat Cass, science teacher, Sturgis Williams Middle School; Teresa Froelich, English/journalism teacher, Sturgis Brown High School; Chad Hedderman, principal, Sturgis Williams Middle School; Sage Robinson-Miller, fitness/weightlifting teacher, Sturgis Brown High School; Colleen Sletten, food service manager, Sturgis Brown High School.

 

Staff members with 15 years of service for the 2022-2023 school year: Jim Adams, maintenance, Buildings & Grounds Department; Jami Anderson, kindergarten teacher, Sturgis Elementary; Jessica Bernhagen, 4th gr. teacher, Piedmont Valley Elementary; William Carpenter, social studies teacher, Stagebarn Middle School; Shelane Graham, paraprofessional, rural schools; Cathy Johnson, paraprofessional, Sturgis Brown High School; Adam Lalicker, IT network administrator, Curriculum & Technology Department; Laurie Lorius, food service manager, Sturgis Elementary; Matt Mott, math teacher, Sturgis Brown High School; Julie Treloar, first grade teacher, Sturgis Elementary.

 

The other honorees include Teacher of the Year for 2022-23: Marnie Colhoff, Piedmont Valley Elementary teacher; Professional/Technical Support Staff of the Year for 2022-2023: Jill Meirose, Sturgis Brown High School head administrative assistant.
