NEW STUDENT ENROLLMENT:

(In-District Residents Only) 

 

New students that are residents of the Meade School District 46-1 for the first time must present a certified copy of their birth certificate or affidavit in lieu of the birth certificate as issued by the Department of Health if the original birth certificate is deemed unattainable and recent immunizations. Meade School District will request the official school records from the former school.

 

For kindergarten students, the child must be five years old as of September 1 of the current year. The registration process also requires submission of a birth certificate, immunization record, and proof of residency before starting school. 

 

Additionally, South Dakota law mandates that 6th grade students receive one dose each of the Tdap and MCV4 vaccines on or after their 11th birthday.

OPEN ENROLLMENT INFORMATION:

(Out of District Residents Only) 

To enroll a new student whose primary residence is outside of the Meade School District 46-1, an open enrollment application must be submitted for approval to tanya.ludwick@k12.sd.us.

 

If you are not certain what district you live in, check the interactive map, enter your address in the search bar, then click Apply, (tax district code must be 46001 to be in the Meade School District.) or email tanya.ludwick@k12.sd.us.

REGISTRATION & ORIENTATION INFORMATION:

 

Administrative expectations for parents/guardians and students when attending open houses is to spend 30-45 minutes at the school their child attends.  Schools will be open and available during those specific times and parents should adjust their time accordingly to attend specific open houses.

Any child in kindergarten through fourth grade is eligible to participate in the licensed after-school program.  All necessary forms need to be completed and tuition payment received before a child can attend/or continue to participate in the program.  Enrollment forms are available at the Piedmont Valley Elementary School or on the Meade School District website.  For more information, call 787-5295 or click here.

 

  • Hours of operation are 2:35 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday

  • Tuition rate:
    $15.00 per day (one child in immediate family)
    $12.00 per day (second child in immediate family)
    $ 9.00 per day (third and more children in immediate family)
