Kwik Mart/KBHB Athlete of the Week! is Avreigh Long of the Sturgis Scooper Girls Basketball Team. She had a great game vs Douglas, scoring 17 points in a win against the Patriots.

State Wrestling tickets are on sale now through the Sturgis High School Activities office. (605) 347-4487. The tournament will be held at The Monument in Rapid City February 27, 28, & March 1, 2025.
Tickets are $50 for adults (reserved seating) and $30 for students (general admission).
Only ALL-SESSION tickets may be ordered in advance. There will be no refunds on advanced ticket orders. Payment MUST be received upon ordering at SBHS. Checks made payable to: SBHS (no credit card purchases)

Sturgis Brown High School Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday, January 13 in the West Gym. Teachers will be available from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.

This week's KBHB/Kwik Mart Athlete of the Week is Zhoel Irion of the Scooper Wrestling Team! Zhoel won his 175 weight class match vs West Central on December 12 and brought home reserve champion at the Rapid City Invite on Saturday, December 14.


Sturgis Brown High School recognizes students for their hard work and academic achievement. Merit Honor Roll is a recognition given to students who achieve a 3.0 - 3.49 grade point average. High Honor Roll recognizes students who have achieved a 3.5 - 4.0 grade point average. Congratulations to the SBHS First Term Fall Honor Roll students.




National Honor Society Induction has been canceled for Monday, December 16, 2024. This will be rescheduled for the Spring 2025.

Sturgis Brown High School Band & Choir presents "A Holly-Days Concert" on Monday, December 9th at 7:00 PM in the West Gym.


Meade Music Booster Dessert Extravaganza Fundraiser will be held on Sunday, December 8 at the Sturgis Brown High School West Gym. Desserts are being made by our SBHS ProStart Culinary Team with music provided by our middle and high school Music Department. Come support music in our community!

ALA South Dakota Girls State is designed to empower and inspire young women to become active and informed citizens, while fostering friendships, creating lasting memories, and providing valuable educational and networking opportunities, these programs are the perfect program for anyone to attend to grow on an academic and personal level.
Timeline and additional information:
1. Contact your local American Legion Auxiliary (ALA).
2. Complete a “State of Interest” and submit to your local ALA.
3. If selected & notified by the ALA you will complete the Pre-Registration form.
4. April 1st you will receive an email from the Director of ALA SD Girls State with additional information.


Attention high school juniors or seniors! Applications are NOW being accepted for the 82nd session of South Dakota Boys State which will be held on the campus of Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD from June 2-6, 2025.
American Legion Boys State of South Dakota has a two-fold purpose. First, to better help youth understand and appreciate the American system of government and way of life including the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. Secondly, to give a better knowledge of the fundamental principles of government within the state of South Dakota.

First trimester is coming to a close and Thursday, November 14 and Friday, November 15 have specific testing and makeup schedules. Additional information: OPEN PERIOD: If a student has an open period, they do not need to come to school for that period. If they are in school, they should be in the library or the Commons. Students are not allowed to wander the hallways or disrupt classrooms. ABSENT OR MISSED TEST: If a student is absent from school, they will need to talk with the teacher and schedule a time to make-up for the missed test. SCHOOL LUNCH: Lunch will be served on Day 1. We will not have lunch served on Day 2. For students who don't leave, we will order pizza to arrive at 12:00 PM BUSES: Buses will run at normal dismissal time.


he Paha Sapa VFW Auxiliary Post 2730, represented by Carol Imhoff and Sharon Vinson, donated $1,000 to Sam's Closet. Accepting the donation is junior Student Council member Tori Williams. Ms. Williams spoke to the VFW Auxiliary about Sam's Closet and how it benefits students in need.
