
This week's KBHB/Kwik Mart Athlete of the week is Ariana Burke, sophomore of the Sturgis Scooper Girls Soccer team! Ariana has set and broke the school goalie record for saves several times this year! Way to go Ariana!!!

September is Suicide Awareness month. The Youth Leadership Team will focus on prevention activities next week, September 9th - 13th . Our biggest event for the week will be a suicide awareness walk on Sunday, September 15th. We will meet in the parking lot at Sturgis Brown High School and start the walk at 12:00 PM. We will walk to the football field and back. PAL (Police Athletic League) will supply water along the way. YLT as well as other community partners will set up tables along the walk with prevention materials and freebies (provided by YLT).
The colors for suicide awareness are teal and purple. The volleyball team will wear teal and purple socks provided by ABC. The fans for both games will also be wearing purple and teal.


KBHB/Kwik Mart Athlete of the Week is back! Our first winner is Danica Dschaak, SBHS 5'8" sophomore, who had 17 kills, one ace and one block to lead Sturgis in their season opening win last week against Belle Fourche! Sturgis Scoopers won three out of four games, 21-25, 25-23, 25-17, and 25-23. Way to go LADY SCOOPERS!


This year's homecoming theme is Scoopers in Hawaii. Student Council has planned the SBHS student dress-up days for the week. Go Scoopers!



Pre-order your Sturgis Volleyball Pink Out Night t-shirt by Monday, September 9. Proceeds will be donated to the family of Jamie VanDervoort, aunt of Erin Shaw, Sturgis Volleyball team member. Sturgis Volleyball Pink Out Night is on Thursday, October 3, against Douglas!


Season kick-off for the Scooper Thespian Society will be held on Tuesday, September 3, at 6:00 PM. If you are interested in Drama Club please attend this with your parents/guardians. Meeting will be held in Room 100 at SBHS.

Welcome back for another year at Sturgis Brown High School! The first day schedule will begin with Scooper Time. During Scooper Time, Lifetouch will be here for Picture Day, as well as computers handed out.

New Student and Freshman Orientation on Tuesday, August 20 at 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Assistant Principals, Coleen Keffeler and Wayne Sullivan, will go over expectations for the upcoming school year.
